The undersigned company certifies that it is a state licensed roofing contractor actively engaged in the roofing, sheet metal, waterproofing, or roof deck business and has accurately reported all information on this application.

Following information must be provided for residential contractor membership:

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES PAYMENT OF $455 MUST ACCOMPANY APPLICATION. Appropriate credit is given on the following year’s dues according to the date received to the nearest quarter.

Membership dues are deductible as an ordinary expense. However, the IRS requires CRSMCA to indicate, “Contributions/gifts to CRSMCA are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal Income Tax purposes.”

Qualifications for Membership

QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP

Pursuant to item (j) of the By-Laws of the Carolinas Roofing and Sheet Metal Association, Inc. (CRSMCA), the Board of Directors adopted the following rules affecting qualifications for membership in the CRSMCA. These standards for Membership in CRSMCA shall apply prospectively for the date of adoption.

  • Applicant must be a roofing, sheet metal, waterproofing, roof deck, insulation, or siding contractor who is licensed by either North Carolina or South Carolina and who has established a reputation for skill, integrity and responsibility.
    • Residential Contractor Member in North Carolina, must possess a business and/or privilege license 
    • Residential Contractor Member in South Carolina, must possess a business and a residential specialty license 
  • Applicant must be domiciled in North Carolina or South Carolina
  •  Residential Contractor applicant must provide current insurance carrier for the following: 
    • General Liability 
    • Workers’ Compensation 
  • Applicant must agree to pay the annual membership dues and must include the said membership dues with the application. 
  • By majority vote of the CRSMCA Board of Directors, suspension of these rules affecting qualifications for membership in CRSMCA and accept the application based on the following criteria: 
    • At least three (3) years cumulative experience in the above mentioned areas of construction, and; 
  • Documented expertise in the above-mentioned areas of construction


Maintenance of Membership

I. Suspension of Membership
Membership in CRSMCA may be suspended by a majority vote of the CRSMCA Board of Directors upon the following grounds:

a. Indictment for a crime involving moral turpitude
b. Indictment for a crime, which constitutes a felony

Suspension from membership in CRSMCA does not affect the requirement of the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Plan that one (may) be a member in good standing of CRSMC-SIF.

II. Termination of Membership
Any member in good standing may resign from CRSMCA at the end of the fiscal year, provided the company has given written notice of intention; to do so at least 90 days prior to the end of the fiscal year.

In the event that arrearages of annual membership dues remain unpaid for a period of three (3) months, the CRSMCA Board of Directors is authorized to terminate membership.

The CRSMCA Board of Directors is authorized to terminate membership in the event a member becomes bankrupt, insolvent, or there is an assignment for the benefit of creditors.

Membership may be terminated by the CRSMCA Board of Directors upon convection of a crime involving moral turpitude or of a crime consulting a felony.

Upon complaint and hearing, any member of the CRSMCA found guilty of a violation of the By-Laws, or of conduct on his/her part likely to, in the opinion of CRSMCA, injure its welfare, interest and reputation, may be expelled by the CRSMCA Board of Directors.

The CRSMCA Board of Directors has authority to expel any member whose license is suspended or revoked by the State agency.

Upon termination of membership in CRSMCA, for any cause, all of the rights, title and interest of such membership cease and revert back to CRSMCA.
